Recovery is a delicate process which involves the chemically dependent person re-creating his or her life and learning how to live without the use of mood-altering chemicals. For some, this may be a challenging task. Chemical dependency is a chronic disease. Therefore, a certain level of risk exists that a person may relapse back into chemical usage.
