Overview
On-Site Food Pantry:
The CFC food pantry is available on-site for Russell County residents. This pantry provides emergency food to families in need so they can prepare meals at home. Families may use this resource once every three (3) months.
Baby Think It Over Program:
Is a local pregnancy prevention initiative that serves all seventh grade students in both the Phenix City and Russell County School Districts.
Parenting Education:
Is a long-term parenting seminar that offers skill enhancement for parents in need. Participants attend a weekly three (3)-hour class for 12 weeks. This program involves parents and their children, ages 0 – 18. Four (4) masters level clinicians facilitate the Nurturing Parent Education Program.
Behavioral Aides for Contracted Services:
Behavioral Aides are provided to other agencies within our community upon request. These services are provided by skilled facilitators that are educated and trained in the area of behavior management of children, adults and families.
Job Readiness Program:
The Success Training Employment Project (S.T.E.P.) is designed to provide 100 hours of classroom instruction that will prepare participants for entry into the job market.
Independent Living Skills Program:
This service offers participants age 16 – 18 in the care of the Department of Human Resources (DHR) an opportunity to meet once per month at a workshop specifically designed to enhance their skills and ready them for life after care.
Family Support Program:
This program serves families by providing case management, assessment, education, survival needs, preservation / prevention oriented services, counseling, need-based services, goal-setting, follow-up, in-home services, and referral to appropriate local agencies.
Teen Parenting Education:
This program is provided at local high schools and is designed to offer parenting education classes for pregnant and / or parenting teens. Participants attend a weekly two (2)-hour class for 12 weeks.
In-Home Therapy:
This is an in-home therapeutic program designed to provide home-based individual and family counseling.
Counseling Services:
This program provides on-site professional counseling services, to include: individual (child, adolescent, adult), group, family and marital counseling.
Cooperative Parenting and Divorce Seminar:
Is a four (4)-hour seminar designed to teach participants how to manage conflict and encourage cooperation between divorcing parents. This seminar meets state and local court approved guidelines and requirements for divorcing parents.
Computer Lab:
Internet-connected computers are available for families and individuals to perform job searches, GED tutorials, complete on-line job applications, post resumes on-line, and check the school progress of their children.
FASTT Program:
The FASTT Program is a community-based initiative designed to help improve the lives of children by encouraging non-custodial fathers to be active and responsible role models in the lives of their children. The program offers a 26 week, nationally recognized curriculum that provides structured guidance and systematic training in the following areas: life-skill enhancement, self-actualization, parenting, communication, job preparedness, stress-management, money-management, relationship building, educational growth, and parental rights and responsibilities.
Healthy Marriage and Relationships Program:
The goal of this program is to strengthen and improve married, pre-marital, and non-married couple relationships among adults, as well as youth, through relationship building education and communication skills development.
Medication Assistance Program
The purpose of this program is to serve as a liaison between physicians, qualifying consumers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers regarding the replacement/provision of free medications for the uninsured, underinsured, indigent, and those who have exceeded their maximum level of insurance coverage.
